Behind Svanemøllehallen lies a long, narrow courtyard that no one really talks about, but which is there nonetheless. It’s a hidden urban oasis where the grill is half-ready, the umbrella is up for no particular reason, and the lights are already flickering in the afternoon shadows.

Here, tiles and grass, benches and picnic tables, plants and petanque come together in a delightful jumble. It all feels like a semi-private Berlin backyard party that has landed in a Danish community center—without anyone asking for it.

Local tip
Bring your own food and drinks—and maybe a set of petanque balls. There’s a café, but it’s not always open.
