Debut Fest 2026: HEAVY RAIN

HEAVY RAIN is performed by five young women who use elements from the world of hip-hop dance to illustrate the feeling of pushing forward while constantly being held back by invisible forces. The choreography is designed to create the illusion that the dancers are moving through heavy rain and headwinds, thereby exploring the chronic sense of inadequacy often felt by young people.

Expect intense physicality, rhythms, and grooves that prompt reflection on emotions such as exhaustion, resistance, anger, vulnerability, and the need to keep pushing forward.

Debut Fest is Copenhagen’s festival for emerging art and new talent. The festival brings together debuting artists across various art forms and gives the audience the opportunity to experience Copenhagen’s new voices up close.

This year, you can enjoy a total of 36 different acts over two days when Debut Fest takes over the Brønshøj Water Tower and the Kildevæld Cultural Center on September 4 and 5.
