Soccer Vocabulary #2

Skjold Contemporary presents THE VOCABULARY OF SOCCER #2—a group exhibition in which 2×11 contemporary artists explore words and expressions from the world of soccer through 22 works. 

Can contemporary art learn from soccer culture—and vice versa?
Historically, contemporary art and soccer culture have had little to do with each other. Art is often perceived as elitist, difficult to access, and placed high on a pedestal. Conversely, soccer culture is often regarded as low culture—but with a much broader popular appeal.

The exhibition aims to build a bridge between contemporary art and soccer culture, thereby opening people’s eyes to the qualities and perspectives found in both worlds.

The exhibition can be viewed in changing rooms 2 and 3 from September 4, 2
