Debut Fest 2026: Interconnected Tension

Marie Mathilde Munch presents an installation of crocheted works in which the material and the process serve as active co-creators. The installation explores the contrast between the pace of contemporary life and the slow, tactile creation of the works.

In an era characterized by a fast pace, constant movement, and digital interfaces, Marie Mathilde Munch employs slowness, repetition, and presence as her artistic method. Through intuitive crocheting processes, she challenges the traditional perception of crocheting as something decorative or domestic by allowing her works to emerge through a collaborative process between hand and material within a spatial and sculptural context.

Debut Fest is Copenhagen’s festival for emerging art and new talent. The festival brings together debuting artists across various art forms and gives the audience the opportunity to experience Copenhagen’s new voices up close.

This year, you can enjoy a total of 36 different acts over two days when Debut Fest takes over the Brønshøj Water Tower and the Kildevæld Cultural Center on September 4 and 5.
